NZÉBI Mask 20th century. Height: 34 cm. Light wood, with a reddish-brown patina on the face, white at the top of the forehead and black on the hair. Provenance: Pierre Redouin Collection. Description: Among the Nzébi people, masks from the Mbigou, Malinga and Lebamba regions possess the delicacy of the mukudji mask; they bear Punu and Lumbu influences. Typologically, this mask is, in fact, a variant of the mukudji from the Malinga region.
