TSOGO Statue 20th century. Height: 58 cm. An IR spectroscopy dating certificate (G. Matthaes patent) from the Museo d’Arte e Scienza, Milan, no. 6AF-3657, indicates the date 1933 ± 8 years. Light wood with a kaolin (pèmba) patina on the body, red staining on the forehead and breasts, black hair. Female fetish statuette covered in pèmba, with two spikes embedded in the abdominal cavity, bearing witness to the rituals that were probably performed with it. Provenance: Pierre Redouin Collection.
