Description:
Like other Bantu tribes in Central Africa, the Tsogo tribes regularly move their villages, sometimes changing their name in the process. The houses of prominent figures had carved doors and shutters which accompanied the family on their journeys. However, in general, the house was left to decay on site without any of its components being reused. This perpetual mobility of dwellings did not facilitate the preservation of interior decorative art. The houses were intended to be recycled into the forest ecosystem. This is why old doors and window shutters are rare.
