Introduced in 1976, the Octagon collection is easily recognisable thanks to its 8-faceted bezel. This highly architectural watch follows in the footsteps of the Kind Midas designed by Gerald Genta nearly 15 years earlier. Manufactured by Favre & Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the case houses a mechanical movement fitted with the calibre 1601 or 1602 in later models. Our example is from one of the series produced in 1976. Consigned for sale by its original owner, this watch is an iconic example of the watchmaking creativity of the 1970s.

CONDITION REPORT:
Movement operational at the time of catalogue compilation. In good condition, with a few slight scratches from wear. The dial setting is not original (originally, reference 4650 identified a model with a set bezel only and a plain Rolex-signed dial). Strap in good condition, very little stretch. Servicing recommended.
Please note that all watches are sold as is. No guarantee is given as to their working condition. Most watches have been opened to identify the type and quality of the movement, including water-resistant models. Buyers are advised to consult a watchmaker to check the watch’s water resistance. Any information provided regarding restoration, damage or condition is subject to the buyer’s own judgement. The absence of any mention of replacement parts, restoration or damage does not in any way imply that an item is free from any existing defects. All items presented may have undergone previous servicing and may contain non-original parts. The dimensions and weight of the items are given as approximate figures.
