An 18k yellow gold, platinum, sapphire and diamond-set hand-wound ladies’ wristwatch with a serpent bracelet.
With its ‘snake chain’ bracelet – a delicate example of goldsmithing that first appeared in the Parisian jeweller’s collections in 1932 – this vintage piece is a perfect example of Van Cleef & Arpels’ watchmaking from the 1940s. It is fitted with a movement by Aster Watch Co., a Swiss manufacturer now largely forgotten.
