A major figure in the Figuration Narrative movement, he made his mark in the 1960s with a colourful, abundant style combining painting, collage and the appropriation of images from popular culture. Erró draws his inspiration from the media, advertising, comic strips, political propaganda and the icons of consumer society, juxtaposing them to create dense, ironic compositions.
