Historical background :
Jules Pierre César GUDIN (1808-1847 ) was the youngest son of General Charles Etienne
GUDIN, a famous divisional officer under Marshal DAVOUT who was killed at Valoutina Gora in August
1812. He was an officer under King Louis Philippe.
On his death, the general's children received an endowment of 4,000 francs with the title of
baron.
