"Monsieur le comte, I received your letter of 11 May and I thank you for having given me news of the emperor. Please let me hear from him often. As soon as it is possible to pass on to Her Majesty what she desires, we will do so with alacrity; believe that IT WILL BE EASY FOR ME TO DO SOMETHING AGREABLE TO THE EMPEROR and that I will not lose a moment to provide him with what will please him as soon as it is possible. In the meantime, Monsieur le Grand Maréchal, I beg you to urge HM to look after his health; pay him my respects, give me frequent news of him and receive, Monsieur le Comte, the assurance of my constant interest, I want you to be well convinced of this...".
