Receipt for "Monsieur Barasse's" catering expenses: general payments to butter, poultry, vegetable, fish and offal merchants, with details: "half a pig's head... 4 very fore whiting... 2 wild canare... 1 rack of lamb... 1 chicken for madam... five maniveau [small baskets] of mushrooms... 3 bunches of carrots... Brussels sprouts... 1 poularde... 2 large sole... " Very wealthy under the Directoire, where his fine dinners were famous, he still lived large after his departure from public affairs.
