Frame of four medals from Lieutenant-Colonel Charles François MOULIN :
-Knight's star of the 3rd type.
Silver, enamelled gold centre, and enamel (chips and dents). Smooth ring. Fragment of ribbon. 60 x 38 mm.
-Cross of Saint Louis in reduction. Gold and enamel (missing a fleur-de-lys). Ribbon with bouffette.
-Miniature knight of the 4th type. In silver, the reverse of the centre is missing. Ribbon with central fillet. 27 x 17 mm.
-Officer's star of the Legion of Honour. 42 x 30 mm. Crown of the 4th type of the First Empire. Star with tassel, circa 1830.
Obverse with the profile of Napoleon I.
Reverse of the 1st type of the July Monarchy with blue enamelled background marked "HONNEUR ET PATRIE". Ribbon with bouffette.

Biography :
Charles François MOULIN (1777-1853)
At the age of sixteen, he enlisted in the 10th Battalion of volunteers in La Manche. After the Italian campaign and the Egyptian expedition, he was appointed lieutenant at Austerlitz. He then fought in Spain and Russia. In 1812, he was one of the first to enter Moscow, where he was promoted to captain. He spent most of his career in the Imperial Guard infantry. Placed on half pay by the Restoration, he returned to his homeland and in 1821 settled in Vire (Calvados), where he was elected to the town council and served as mayor from 1830 to 1834.
