Large command scarf said to have been worn by Napoleon BONAPARTE when he entered Milan in 1796.
In tricolour silk, edged with gold passementerie fringes.
Embroidered with the monogram "N.B.".

History:
Let us quote Valérie MASUYER's attestation in her memoirs:
"Scarf with fringes worn by the Emperor when he entered Milan in 1796, given by Prince Louis to Arenenberg on

This is one of six scarves worn by Bonaparte at the Army of Italy in 1796.
This scarf was given by the future Napoleon III to Valérie Masuyer, as a
