Description
Piece of black cloth entirely decorated with silver lamé embroidery. This sheet is said to have covered the horse of the "colonel" (sic) during the transfer of the ashes of the Emperor "Napoleon I" from Neuilly to Les Invalides on 15 December 1840. On a green satin background. Under glass. Carved gilt frame. Size: 69 x 51 cm. B.E. Return of the Ashes period. Provenance : Napoleonic Collection of the Prince's Palace of Monaco, N°208, Osenat, Fontainebleau 16 November 2014.
