Description
Horace Vernet (1789-1863), after. "The Prince-President Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte and the Duke of Genoa inspecting the army at the parade ground of Camp Satory". Large engraving by Jazet. Osenat sale in Fontainebleau. 7 July 2019 n°418. History: From 8 August to 12 November 1850, Le prince Président made triumphal tours of the country, sometimes presenting himself as the defender of workers, sometimes as the defender of religion and property. He also spoke to the military about glory and freedom, which led to him being saluted on 10 October with shouts of "Long live the Emperor" during a military review at the Satory camp.
