Hair ensemble attributed to Mathilde Bonaparte
Set of three combs and four bun pins in gilt metal, 18K (750 thousandths) gold and brown horn.
The pins are openwork in gilt metal. The main comb decorated with a garland of ivy leaves in 18K (750 thousandths) gold, stamped with an eagle's head.
The two secondary combs are decorated with a similar design, which reacts to the touchstone as 18K (750 thousandths) gold, without hallmark.
Presented on an olive green velvet stand.
On the reverse, handwritten inscription:
"Combs and pins that belonged to Princess Mathilde (Daughter of Jérôme Bonaparte)".
