A large ormolu and blackened wood inkwell, with four covered cups decorated with dolphin heads, four compartments and a two-light candelabra decorated with busts of women, with a side writing drawer originally operated by a push-button underneath (socket added at a later date); (small accidents; one piece redone at the base of the candelabra). Restoration period. H: 35 cm, W: 38 cm, D: 24 cm Related work: A very similar inkwell was sold at Fontainebleau, Osenat, on 17 November 2013, no. 376; it was probably on King Louis-Philippe's desk at the Tuileries Palace in the 19th century.
