Matching curved, upholstered backrest. One example signed by J*B Lerouge (Jean-Baptiste Lerouge, master craftsman 1749) and bearing the guild mark. France. Louis XV period, c. 1750. ‘Gros-Point’ tapestry depicting flowers and fruit. H_ 70 cm, W_ 75 cm, D_ 99 cm. Signs of wear and some missing sections.
