IDMAN (attributed to Paavo TYNELL, 1890–1973) Pendant lamp, model 10053 (or variant), Suspension lamp with a polished brass rod, supporting a cylindrical shade made of raw silk, resting on a circular diffuser of frosted glass, finely decorated with a hand-painted polychrome floral motif. Circa 1955 H_78 cm D_44 cm Condition: electrical system fully functional, good condition Bibliography: This model is listed in the Idman catalogue (no. 138, part 1, p. 30) Notes: Similar pendant lamps featuring a comparable painted design have been attributed to Paavo Tynell. Idman produced several variants of this model, of varying degrees of elaboration. A similar example is also listed on the Finnish portal Finna, and has been linked to the work of Taito Oy, an organisation closely associated with Paavo Tynell.
