TERENCE. “Six comedies by Terence, carefully emended—more so than ever before—by collating both Donatus’s commentaries and the finest, particularly the oldest, extant manuscripts; Aelius Donatus’s… along with whatever commentaries on them still exist, carefully corrected from an ancient manuscript transcribed by hand, with Greek passages also restored; Calphurnius’s most erudite commentary on the third comedy; and a most comprehensive index of those notes scattered throughout the commentaries.” Paris, from the press of Robert Stephani, 1529. Folio. (The index and the final folio contain the errata and the colophon). Contemporary binding in full fawn calfskin, covers decorated with a geometric design and cold-stamped metal tools.
