Schiaparelli – ‘Le Roy Soleil’ – (Christmas 1945) A spectacular surrealist bottle crafted from solid, colourless, press-moulded Baccarat crystal, richly embellished with gold lacquer and subtly enamelled in cobalt blue; oval in cross-section, its truncated conical body featuring a marbled pattern representing the sea; its heavy cap depicting a blazing sun with an expressive face, highlighted by a flock of seagulls in flight; and its stemmed stopper representing a ray of sunlight. (A few tiny chips on the rays). Numbered 66. Design by Salvador Dalí in 1943 and crafted by Fernand Guéry-Colas. Height: 17 cm
