COLOURED GLASS PANEL depicting two lansquenets, one in armour and holding a standard bearing the symbols of the Corporation of Blacksmiths of Bern, the other carrying a halberd; they frame the coat of arms of the Corporation, surmounted by the inscription in Gothic leytres Eine Ehrende [Zunft]gesellschaft zu Schmieden 1588 (In honour of the Corporation of Blacksmiths 1588). Scene of the siege of a stronghold in the background.

This stained glass window probably comes from the hall of the blacksmiths' guild (Zunftgesellschaft zu Schmieden) in Bern. It may have replaced an original from 1588, which was damaged in the fire that destroyed the building in 1610.
