Description
TABRIZ Iran Shah era Circa 1960/65 Kork quality lambswool on cotton backing. Representation of an Isfahan mosque surrounded by six medallions and inlaid reserves of Persian poets and scholars: Ferdowsi, Master Sanaii, Avicenna (great scholar), Sheik Bahaii, Golestan Saadi (poem from Saadi's book The Garden of Roses) and Hafez. Beautiful ruby red frame decorated with garlands of flowers and foliage finely drawn in polychrome. Triple border, the main one apricot and salmon, decorated with rows of multicoloured floral bulbs in the shape of stylised diamonds. 327 x 210 cm
