Roullet Decamps – 20th century. The rabbit with a carrot, prototype or mould – Mechanical automaton. It is made of boiled cardboard, comprising several parts numbered ‘3’ in pencil, which form the body enclosing a wooden core to which the mechanism is attached. The legs are fixed in a position as if holding a carrot, whilst the head and ears move, rising and lowering.
