SMALL DUTCH GOLD BOX decorated with pastoral scenes and rocaille motifs, with a hinged lid. 19th-century Dutch work. Hallmark: a weevil on the left within an oval frame, with a different mark between the legs; used for gold or silver items imported from 1864; from 1893 onwards, it was used only for imported gold jewellery. Replaced by the eagle’s head hallmark in 1990. Paris and its departments, 1893–1990. Gross weight: 23.90 g. Buyer’s fees: 8% excl. VAT
