EXCEPTIONAL AND EXTREMELY FINE HEREKE SILK RUG, woven with gold threads (Anatolia, circa 1960–1965).
Prayer-shaped carpet, 100% silk.
Golden-beige field decorated with a stylised cabochon-shaped mihrab adorned with a cartouche woven with gold threads bearing signatures.
A very beautiful composition of foliage featuring fine, crenellated branches in curvilinear volutes, ending in delicately drawn floral palmettes.
Triple borders, the main ivory-coloured one featuring poetic inscriptions.
Silk velour, woven with gold threads on a silk ground.
Density: approximately 12,000 knots per dm². Remarkable fineness.
Dimensions: 91 x 52 cm.
