Note: Jules Emile Zingg entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, joining Fernand Cormon’s studio in 1902. He specialised in landscape painting and was named second prize-winner of the Prix de Rome in 1911.
From 1926 onwards, following the establishment of the "Société Belfortaine des Beaux-Arts", major exhibitions were organised in Belfort’s museums, where his works were displayed alongside those of Anders Osterlind, René-Xavier Prinet and Georges Freset.
