2 volumes in-8, an illustrated edition featuring a portrait of the author attributed to St Aubin and 8 separate engravings by Moreau the Younger, engraved by Simonet or de Ghendt.
Contemporary full red morocco binding with a long grain, the covers featuring gilt scrolls as a border, fillets and metalwork in the spandrels, the spine richly decorated with five raised bands, all edges gilt, signed ‘Bozérian the Younger’. Bookplates by René Escandes de Messières and Jacques Chastenet (very slight rubbing and traces of glue; trace of a scraped-off label; foxing).
