A chiselled and gilded bronze clock featuring a young gentleman reading, surrounded by vine leaves, resting on a base decorated with foliage, scrolls and rocaille motifs (wear to the gilding).
The dial is made of white porcelain, enamelled with black Roman numerals for the hours and a railway-track minute scale. Two winding squares. Key-wound movement with a blade spring (formerly wire-wound), with its balance wheel (scratched).
