Description
SÈVRES.
A hard-paste porcelain soup plate from the Emperor’s service at the Palais de Bordeaux, decorated with a gold rosette in the centre, a violet-coloured base, and a polychrome frieze of flowers and foliage around the rim.
Marked: M. Imple de Sèvres and a red triangle (the words ‘M. Imple’ have been deliberately erased), ‘M.B.’ in red, for Mrs Bunel, and ‘A…’ in gold.
Early 19th century, Consulate period, Year 13 (1804–1805).
