Note: Élisée Maclet is known for his landscapes of Montmartre and Paris. Having settled in the capital in 1906, he developed a luminous style similar to that of Maurice Utrillo. He also painted Normandy, the Côte d’Azur and Brittany, as evidenced by this work. Saint-Pol-de-Léon, a town in northern Finistère, is recognisable by the spire of the Chapelle du Kreisker and the two spires of Saint-Paul-Aurélien Cathedral.
