Marcel-François LEPRIN (1891–1933). Alley in Paris. Oil on canvas, signed lower right (holes caused by wood-boring insects, slight stains, damaged frame). Height: 60 cm – Width: 73 cm Provenance: - Public auction at Laurent BERNARD on 14 May 2022, lot 266. Note: The painter and draughtsman Marcel Leprin became famous for his views of Montmartre. He moved to Paris in 1921, where he mingled with the artists of the Butte, which influenced his style, which was close to Expressionism. His career was cut short by his death at the age of 41.
