Carved walnut figure bearing an inscription and date on the plinth: “Helvetiorum fidei ac virtuti diex augusti II et III septembre MDCCXCII” (insect holes, slight damage). Switzerland, 19th century. Height: 14 cm – Width: 28 cm – Depth: 9 cm Note: This piece depicts the famous Lion of Lucerne from the memorial dedicated to the Swiss Guards who fell in 1792.
