An important collection of display pieces.
19th and 20th centuries.
It comprises:
- a brass officer’s pocket watch, with a white enamelled dial featuring Roman numerals for the hours and railway-track markings for the minutes, a six-o’clock alarm, a gong chime, and its winding key (dial slightly damaged);
- a porcelain set comprising: LIMOGES, two stemmed tea cups of a similar design in white hard-paste porcelain with gilded highlights featuring a frieze of palmettes and laurel garlands (wear to the gilding and slight chipping), marked on the base, with their saucers; A white porcelain cup and saucer with gilded highlights featuring a frieze of palmettes and coats of arms (one chip); A pill box in polychrome glazed porcelain, decorated with a romantic scene and flowers, accented with gilding; the frame is in gilded metal; Porcelain pipe with an enamelled decoration depicting a portrait of an elegant young man; the interior of the brass mount is marked ‘CL NEUSILBER’ (some damage);
- a set of three small cut and facetted glass vials, with English silver mounts, the interiors vermeilled and decorated with repoussé work, 800 parts per thousand.
