with alarm, signed ‘Le Faucheur Le Jeune à Evreux’, early 18th century.
Brass and iron.
Ring-shaped dial with Roman numerals marked at 15-minute intervals and cross-shaped markers for the half-hours, alarm disc with Arabic numerals in the centre, surrounded by the signature and a foliage motif; one hand; a cut-out and engraved pediment featuring two dancing figures on either side of an (empty) coat of arms above symmetrically arranged foliage.
Movement with four cylindrical pillars, two chain-driven gear trains, a horizontal verge escapement, a simple balance wheel, and a gong chime.
31 x 15.5 x 12 cm.
