Silver ‘onion-shaped’ staff watch with a repeater, marked ‘Dufour à Paris’.
Early 18th century.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals for the hours on raised dots, Arabic numerals for the minutes, two silver hands cut in the shape of fleurs-de-lis. Gilded brass movement, openwork and engraved silver cock, regulator disc on a silver rack, Egyptian pillars with silver caps, verge escapement, fusee with chain, strike repeater. Case in openwork, chiselled and engraved silver. Diameter 5.7 cm.
