WATCH with a three-colour gold balance staff, featuring a date and day-of-the-week display, signed ‘Th[eodo]re Dubois au Locle’, circa 1770. White enamel dial, Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, rose-coloured subsidiary dials for the day of the week at 2 o’clock, seconds at 6 o’clock, date at 9 o’clock, gilded brass hands, with the hour and minute hands openworked and engraved. Gilded brass movement, silver regulator disc, openwork and engraved bridge with a coqueret, verge escapement, cylindrical pillars, engraved balance cock. Three-colour gold case bearing the inscription on the inside ‘Presented on 11 Nivôse, Year II’ [31 December 1793]; the case back engraved in relief with a military trophy. Diameter 4.6 cm.
