Large-sized rod watch in a painted horn case, signed (dial and movement) ‘Pearcy London 11575’, c. 1791. White enamel dial, Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, brass hands (replaced). Gilded brass movement, silver regulator disc, openwork and engraved cock, verge escapement, cylindrical pillars. Plain silver case bearing the London hallmarks for 1791/92, double case in silver and horn, the caseback painted with a bird-catcher playing the flute in front of an enchanted bird, the bezels secured with silver pins.
