[Very fine and important set of court almanacs and calendars, most of them bound with the coat of arms, including : Night almanac like that of the marquise D. NNC. utile aux dames du grand monde et aux petits maitres pour l'année bisextile 1776, extremely rare almanac published anonymously by M. de la M.[otte] chevalier des rou[stons] (completed in manuscript). Superb contemporary binding with unidentified arms. Slight rubbing, minor defects. Le trésor des almanachs, étrennes nationales curieuses, nécessaires et instructives, année 1784, Louis XVI régnant From Cailleau, Paris. Very rare almanac and attractive copy in a period binding with elegantly decorated boards, spine a little damaged, complete with medallion portraits of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette on the frontispiece, in sanguine. Calendario e Notizario della Corte per l'anno bisestile 1796, Napoli, Reale - Superb copy in an Italian binding with the coat of arms of the House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, superb overall condition and with the folding engraved map in-fine. Calendrier de la cour pour l'année 1816, published by Madame Hérissant, Paris. Beautiful copy in full red chagrin, charming gilt roulette framing the boards, slight rubbing. Calendrier de la cour pour l'année 1820, published by Madame Hérissant le Doux, Paris. A fine copy in full red chagrin with the Royal coat of arms, minor rubbing, partial tear to the marbled paper on the first hinge, not serious. Calendrier de la cour pour l'année 1821, by Pelicier, Paris. A fine copy in full red chagrin with the Royal coat of arms, minor rubbing. Calendrier de la cour pour l'année 1829, published by Le-Doux Hérissant, Paris. A fine copy in full red chagrin with the arms of Charles X, minimal rubbing. Ex libris with the motto Vitus Semper Veridis. Etrennes intéressantes des quatre parties du monde pour l'année 1816, by Janet, Paris, a very fine copy in a full green chagrin binding with the royal arms. Includes two beautiful folding engraved maps, one of which is a frontispiece. [On joint] SAINT-LAMBERT - Les saisons, poëme, sixth revised and corrected edition, Amsterdam (Cazin à Paris), 1777, a very fine copy in a contemporary binding in full red morocco, triple gilt fillets decorating the boards, well decorated smooth spine (small gilt defect on the first bit, not serious), unsigned engraved frontispiece (after Moreau). Provenance: Library of René Choppin, jurisconsult, scholar and bibliophile poet who built up a very large and fine library of taste.
