Statue of the goddess Sekhmet. Bronze with brown patina. Sekhmet is depicted seated on a throne, in her human leontocephalic form. She is wearing a tripartite wig topped with a ureus. She is bare-chested, wearing a loincloth with fine incisions. She is adorned with a forearm bracelet. Egypt, Late Period 664-525 BC. H. 23 cm. Provenance: Chalot sale in Fécamp on 21 August 2021 lot 200, "According to the seller's declaration and by family tradition, this figurine comes from a private French collection following an inheritance and was acquired by the deceased between the 1960s and 1980, most probably at the Drouot auction house in Paris".
