Description
Daniel OCTOBRE (1903-1995). Kiki in the Gardens of the Orangery at Versailles. Signed and dated 32 on the right. Dim. 65x 100cm. Some restorations. Presented in an American box. Ref. Daniel Octobre is a little-known artist who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1924 and won the Prix de Rome for painting in 1928. Thirty-one of his works are held in the collections of the Musée Bernard d'Agesci. His work includes the frescoes at the Palais de Justice in Gien and the church in Meung-sur-Loire, as well as the enamels on the high altar in the church in Châtel-Guyon. His works can be found in the Musée d'Art Moderne, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris.
