Description
Christian KRASS (1868-1957). A large piece of furniture in violet wood burl and shell applications. The front opens to reveal two moulded leaves with recesses that extend to the sides and are highlighted with brass filleting. The edges of the doors are adorned with a deep groove in imitation bamboo. The body rests on four horn-shaped feet in bronze with a coppery patina. The whole rests on a rectangular veneered terrace. Our piece of furniture was commissioned by the Aga Khan in 1937 and presented at the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts.
