Created in 1892, the model for this charming bust of a draped young girl, entitled *Young Vestal or Graziella*, may have been inspired by the romantic heroine Graziella from Alphonse Lamartine’s novel of the same name, published in 1849.
The Sèvres porcelain factory produced a rare biscuit-porcelain edition of this piece between 1902 and 1910. Only five examples were produced under the title ‘Young Girl’.
