A digital certificate will be issued to the purchaser Expert’s note: This painting bears a resemblance to several works by Théodore Rousseau. Firstly, note the figure in red clothing, similar to that in ‘La mare’ at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Reims (Michel Schulman, Catalogue raisonné de l’oeuvre peint, 1997, no. 248), as well as the use of wooden panels in the foreground, as in the painting “Plateau de Bellecroix”, also circa 1850 (Michel Schulman, no. 347) Oil on panel, 14.5 x 18.1 in, with frame: 23.2 x 25.9 in
