Belgium – WOUTERS (G.) & GEENS (L). The Civic Guard and its origins. Liège, Bénard, 1905. In-plano (574 x 401 mm), 16 pp., 24 plates – A fine illustrated album containing 24 chromolithographs depicting the uniforms of the Belgian Civic Guard from 1830 to 1905. These were printed from watercolours by the Ghent painter Louis Geens (1835–1906), a specialist in military scenes. The historical text was written by G.
