Henry Dunning MACLEOD (1821–1902), Scottish economist and lawyer. L.A.S., London, 9 July 1877, to Maurice Block; 4 pages, in-8, on Oxford and Cambridge Club letterhead; in English. He sends him his short work *The Elements of Banking*, published in 1858, which was quite popular and was used for the examinations of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland: ‘a small work of mine, *The Elements of Banking*, which I am glad to say has been rather popular.
