Victor de Riquetti, Marquis de MIRABEAU (1715–1789). Letter from the sender, dated 13 January 1787 at Le Bignon, to Guillot de Blancheville, Attorney at the Parliament in Paris; 1 page, quarto, address bearing a red wax seal with the coat of arms (broken).
He wishes him a Happy New Year: ‘A Happy New Year from a defender who holds your spirit and your courage dear is not merely a wealth of meaning, but also of success, and in that respect we are well covered: and I am pleased to see you moving forward. I am not of an age to follow you very far, but I give you my children, and in that respect there will be cause’… Thus Mr du Saillant is going to ‘give you cause to take legal action against my mother-in-law’. He has learnt of the judgement obtained ‘concerning the woods of Aigueperse’… Etc.
