Description
David RICARDO (1772–1823), English philosopher and economist, stockbroker and Member of Parliament. Letter from the author (signed at the top in the third person), [24 August 1812], to the bookseller John Stockdale in Piccadilly; half-page folio, address (slightly torn); in English. He asks that his journal be sent to him, until further notice, at Albion House, Ramsgate. Enclosed is a P.S., Mile End, 1 January 1812, a proxy for voting as governor of the Asylum for Deaf and Dumb Children (1 p., oblong in-12, partly printed); plus an address ‘as is’ to Miss L. Clerk; and an engraved portrait.
