Jean-Baptiste SAY (1767–1832), industrialist and economist. Letter written from Paris, 27 Nivôse Year III (16 January 1795), as editor of *La Décade*, to Citizen Louis Cotte, meteorological observer at ‘Mont-Emile, formerly Montmorency’; 1 page, folio, with address. ‘The Observatory has continued to send me its meteorological observations despite the reasons I had for supposing that it would not do so. I shall continue to publish them since I have begun. This will not prevent you from receiving the issues of *La Décade* as usual; my aim in doing so is to ensure that you retain your goodwill towards me for when I may need it’”… Certificate of cultural heritage attached.
