Description
John SINCLAIR (1754–1835), Scottish agronomist and statistician. L.A.S., London, 11 February 1802, to Dr Parry in Bath; 2 pages, in-8; in English. He wrote a short paper on the subject of longevity, with the aim of eventually incorporating the main points into the analysis of the Statistical Account of Scotland: ‘I have drawn up a short paper on the important subject of longevity, with a view to having the substance of it ultimately included in the analysis of the Statistical Account of Scotland’. He therefore had several copies printed, in order to gather additional facts and observations, and asks Parry to share his comments with him. [The Statistical Account of Scotland was published by John Sinclair between 1791 and 1799 in 21 volumes.]
