Description

John SINCLAIR (1754–1835). LA.S., Edinburgh, 19 March 1826, to Mr Trevelyan; 1 page, in-8 (traces of glue at the corners); in English. He sends him his little volume and considers Sunday to be the appropriate day to send it, as the evening of that day is the most suitable time for reading it: ‘that a Sunday was the appropriate day for sending it, as the evening of that day was the fittest time for its perusal’. Enclosed is a handwritten letter (signed at the top), Whitehall, 18 June 1794, to Mr Spottiswood; half a page, quarto, addressed. He wishes to consult ‘Mackenzie on Scotch Elections’, which will be returned to him immediately.
