Description
John BOWRING (1792–1872). Letter from the author, London, 25 November 1826, to Jean-Alexandre Buchon, at the newspaper *Le Constitutionnel*; one and a half pages, in-8, with address. He recommends the bearer of the letter, who is setting off ‘for Paris with a view to furthering his studies of the French language and literature’, and asks Buchon to assist him during his stay. ‘I have been furiously attacked, as you will have seen, in my honour because of the unfortunate affairs in Greece.
